Ardor / Nxt Group
Here is an opportunity for the community to help sponsor an incredibly successful educational project initiated, funded and developed by Eric Funk, an Ardor / Nxt community member.
Eric created Ardor Bootcamp, a series of more than 30 lessons teaching the basics of Ardor blockchain, on Udemy.com. He has generously provided many discount codes to make it more accessible to those wanting to learn the power of Ardor. Recently he worked with Ardor / Nxt Group in the Raspberry PI Giveaway.
An entire Residence in every confirmed transaction: The Blockchain Promise How do we define real? The ability to touch, see, feel with our senses? All the brain relays and nothing more if you ask me. I’m anonymous. I have an avatar — a name that isn’t my own. Nobody knows me. Online, some people think they can say what they want with whatever words they want in whatever attitude they want — and nobody will know who they are.
But I believe you are known — even behind the mask of an avatar or fake name.
Introducing a new Ardor Forum adorforum.org dedicated to conversations around Ardor.
The Nxt forum remains at the same URL nxtforum.org and is the place to talk about Nxt.
The division into two forums was for clarity between the projects. You may login to both forums with your former Nxt Forum username and password.
The best part about these choices is that you can participate in both.
Congratulations Kseniya Zhytomirsky!
Kseniya was chosen from among those who successfully completed the Ardor Bootcamp Course on Udemy.com to win a Raspberry Pi loaded with Ardor.
The contest is over but the course is still available. Join the number of people who have completed this three and a half hour course and know all the basics of the Ardor blockchain.
Go to Udemy.com and search for Ardor Bootcamp and be sure to follow the course @efunkonline on Twitter for the discount coupons he shares and his upcoming course.

How easy is it for an artist to create a token or asset to represent a real piece of art on the blockchain?
We’ve all heard the claims about how blockchain or distributed ledger technology will help artists protect the intellectual property to their created works. In fact, this seems to be one of the more obvious use cases for the blockchain. There are some registries opening as businesses to allow artists to register a token through their service.

When working for a large software company, my team used to follow an agile development methodology named Scrum. To be honest, I never liked this methodology.
Let’s start with another toy I built on Ardor last weekend:
I call it Burning Messages.
It’s a Private Chat dApp build on the Ardor platform.
You can download it using the Ardor Data Cloud (full client required):
The third area is Lugano Switzerland, home of Jelurida's main office.
Search this area (using Google Maps) to uncover the hidden words in the picture below.
When you have unlocked the Stage III account, there's a bonus puzzle for you to solve HERE.
All letters are lowercase, divided by spaces - exactly like the passphrase for your Ardor account. The formula of the final passphrase is: (Stage I + Stage II) + Stage III + Stage IV + Stage V + FINAL WORD.
One of the most exciting projects that launched on the NXT blockchain in 2017 was Adel.
Adel is an idea incubator that focuses mainly on blockchain projects. Submitting ideas and the execution of these projects are delegated to the Adel Members with the Adel core team supervising the end to end process.
I’ve researched this topic a bit lately and when I came across this unanswered question in the ethereum stackexchange, I decided to write up my findings as this might be better than nothing, which is what I found regarding that matter. A disclaimer: I’ve not yet worked with ERC721 myself yet and have based this article on the available resources, of which a few are linked in the article where relevant.
The Summer Quest will take you on an adventure as you walk across parts of the world to find very specific numbers and words. The words of each stage of the quest will give you access to an Ignis account with an encrypted message. Find all the words and reap the final reward: 1000 IGNIS.
Instructions from puzzle creator, madfox:
The second area is Lancaster, PA, home of Elizabeth Mong, Director of the Ardor and Nxt Group (ANG).
Walk through and search this area (using Google maps) to uncover the hidden words in the picture below.
The first area to search is Hadera, Israel, where Lior Yaffe (co-founder, managing director @Jelurida) lives.
Search this area (using Google maps) to uncover the hidden words in the picture above.
The 6 words found in this puzzle will be the first part of a passphrase that gives you access to a Nxt/Ardor blockchain account. The second half of the passphrase will be the 6 word answer from the Stage Two of the Summer Quest series. The passphrase unlocks an encrypted message in this account to let you know that your solution is correct.
If you are not a professional developer like me, or not familiar with the Ardor platform, here are some quick tips you may find useful at the beginning :).
Difference between Ardor and Ignis
In short, Ardor is the parent chain, using the token ARDOR, which security the networks and package all child-chain transactions. You can’t do much thing only with Ardor chain.
Ignis is the first child-chain which has the most features , using the token IGNIS.
OK this is not a toy anymore. :)
This is a Twitter clone completely building on Ardor platform, or precisely, the Ignis child-chain of Ardor.
I must say I’m no professional developer and only planned to learn some Ardor by doing this, but turns out got most functions done.
It use two build-in functions of Ardor platform:
Messages and Account Property.
Ardor / Nxt Group is writing the API documentation for Ardor. Contribute by updating the documentation and earn a bounty. Details can be found here:
300 lines including HTML, CSS and JS, that’s all. ;)
I know it’s more like a toy but I’m also not a professional developer. I just want to show how easy to write a dApp on Ardor.
It use only one build-in function of Ardor platform: Messages.
The logic is very simple: treat a predefined Ardor account as a channel, and every public messages to that account as a channel message.
One of my colleagues at my previous job used to say that getting a software feature 99% done is just the beginning. The leap from 99% to 100% is the biggest step.
There will be 25 winners for this weeks puzzle!
A Nxter who is definitely growing something unique on the Ignis blockchain this summer is Madfox, Russian Nxter editor. With his puzzle games, mazes and crosswords, he is giving away free IGNIS to the fastest minds that solve his challenges every week. In this, his 5th puzzle, the first 25 participants to come, correctly, collect on the challenge can each claim 50 IGNIS, sponsored by the ANG.
Gradually, we are hitting the nails on the head more and more.
I have never been so inclined to write about a real blockchain use case nor have I had so much passion to address some real life issues as much as this.

Have you wondered how Nxt Cryptocurrency developed and evolved into Ardor?
A beautiful 22 page document outlining the history of Nxt cryptocurrency through the launch of Ardor has been published.
Ardor / Nxt Community member Andrii Savdeiev used his design skills to create the document that was compiled by Ruben Bueno with further contributions and edits from a group of selected reviewers.
Enjoy the story! We all joined the narrative at some point and the journey ahead is part of the history yet to be told.
Today, Binance Exchange announced the listing of the Ardor cryptocurrency token with trading to commence at 11:00 UTC.
The listing comes several months after the Ardor / Nxt Community raised the equivalent of $100,000 for the listing fee within 6 hours.
Meanwhile, market conditions have devalued the crowd funded amount and Jelurida B.V. has made up the difference in value.
Jelurida is the entity protecting the licensing and intellectual property of the Ardor and Nxt blockchains and committed to the success of the projects.
Step 1. Solve all 12 nongram puzzles according to numbers at the side of the grid to reveal a hidden picture.
Step 2. Make up the passphrase by using the solved pictures as a clue.
Use the passphrase and to give you full access to account ARDOR-6CNA-C4ST-N2ZG-CQ5V8 with 500 IGNIS sponsored by Ardor Nxt Group.

How to save your crypto when you die
In the next 100 years or so we will all die and this is one of the two facts of life we have to accept. This creates an awkward problem, since in crypto you are responsible for your funds, if you die your crypto will die with you.
Is there a way to recover your funds once you are no longer around?
I have often wondered―without break―how the concept and importance of blockchain can be explained to a layman, how the use cases can be generalized to the level of under
It’s important to note that evangelizing be it the gospels or blockchain follows the same path.
Ardor is a scalable blockchain built with a unique parent / child chain architecture that allows people create their own blockchain, known as a child chain. All processing will be done on the Ardor main chain, which will secure the network. Transactions will be carried out on the child chains - each one dedicated to the blockchain owner. Child chains will provide features currently on Nxt such as decentralized phasing, voting, and trading, as well as be able to interact with other child chains on the platform in a decentralized exchange (DEX).
NXT is an open source blockchain platform. Launched in November 2013, it was the first to use a 100% Proof-of-Stake system. Nxt is a blockchain platform with built-in transactional features (smart contracts) ready for people to use out of the box: Voting, Messaging, Asset Exchange and more.
The first child chain of Ardor is the Ignis child chain. IGNIS tokens are used for its operation. All existing and well tested Nxt blockchain features are available on the Ignis child chain with the addition of Ardor platform specific enhancements. Visit the Ignis Wiki and User Guide for more information.
